The Union Township Education Foundation (UTEF) is an independent, not-for-profit (501c3) organization.
Our Mission:
It is the mission of the Union Township Education Foundation to raise funds in order to award grants that help faculty and staff inspire and challenge Union Township School students. We encourage, spotlight and fund great ideas that energize the academic and creative life of students, but fall above and beyond our school district budget. We strive to provide enrichment well beyond everyday education.
The Board of Directors of the UTEF is comprised of Union Township parents and community members. Since its inception in 1996, the Foundation has raised thousands of dollars for the district. These funds have provided grants to teachers for a variety of projects, technology equipment, such as the Promethean Boards, library books, playground equipment and most recently the Tiger Clubs after-school program at the elementary school.
In recent years, the UTEF has held large scale fundraisers, such as a couples night art auction and tricky tray auction. In light of the economic downturn, a large fundraiser was put on hold for this past year. The Board is currently planing a spring 2011 fundraiser, so please look for details to be sent out soon. Smaller, family-friendly fundraisers, such as the summer movie nights at Finn Park, and the student/faculty basketball game in March, have become much anticipated events.
What can you do to continue the success of the UTEF?
• The easiest way is to come to our events and bring your family and friends! Parent participation is critical to the success of the UTEF! Remember, every little bit helps.
• Join the Board of Directors! We are always looking for new people dedicated to our children and our school to help with the decision making of the foundation.
• Volunteer to help at our fundraising events!
• Donate money! Donations are ALWAYS welcome and tax deductible. Don’t forget about matching funds from your employer or naming UTEF as the recipient of your United Way donation. Our EIN# is 22-3604741.
• Help us network by spreading the word about all of the good work that we do! We are working for our own children and for your children as well.
