Welcome

To Mrs. James Music 

My name is Gena James, and I have been teaching for 22 years. I am very excited to start my fifth year of teaching here at Union Township Elementary, teaching K-3 general music.  Throughout my career my experience has been teaching K-8th grade general music, 4th-12th grade instrumental music, 2nd-8th grade choir, and directing mini musicals for 3rd and 4th grade. 

I currently live in the Phillipsburg area with my husband, daughter, and son. During my free time I love to bake and create beautiful cakes and cupcakes. However, I like to challange myself  in creating many different kinds of desserts. I also enjoy attending many musical events exploring and experiencing many different genres of music and music of other cultures. 

In music, students will be engaged in movement and hands-on activities to broaden and expand their musical experience. I love to have students experience music in a fun and meaningful way. Make sure you check the school concert dates and mark them on your calendars.
