Tiger Tales Reading Challenge Progress

Tiger Tales Reading Challenge!

  • Tiger Tales Reading Challenge

I know that with so much to do and accomplish, just plain reading (especially for fun) has taken a backseat. In order to stimulate some reading excitement, we are beginning a school wide reading challenge.

We ask that students keep track of the minutes they read (or get read to) at home.  For every 10 minutes read, students should color in one picture on the reading log.  As the log is finished, or monthly, whichever comes first, it can be returned to school for another.  Virtual students may email me (Mrs. Pevorus) or their teacher a picture of the completed form or a list of minutes read.

Teachers will pass out and collect forms from in-person students, and our virtual students can download a form or keep track of minutes in any convenient method.  Students may complete as many forms during the month as they want to. Each month there will be a new form. Every time the school reaches 10,000 minutes read, there will be a reward of some sort - prizes, theme days, torture principal things, etc. We hope to get student input on ideas too!

If we can reach 100,000 minutes before the end of the year we'll plan something extra special! The front bulletin board will be decorated to keep track of minutes and so students can see the school progress. Thank you for helping me bring back the excitement of reading!
