Union Township Schools Recognized for Excellence in Communications

The Union Township School District (Hunterdon County) was recently recognized by the New Jersey School Public Relations Association (NJSPRA) for excellence in their school district communications. NJSPRA announced the winners of the 2018 School Communication Awards at a private reception in Hamilton, New Jersey on October 11, 2018.

The Union Township School District won first place in the special interest publication category and second place in the social media category. The district is among 32 New Jersey school districts that competed in eight different categories this year. Submissions were judged by an esteemed panel of judges including advertising and public relations professors from Rowan University and nationally recognized marketing and branding experts.

“I am very fortunate to serve alongside such a talented leadership team. Winning these two awards was a true group effort. From strategic planning to everyday storytelling on social media, we are committed to sharing our school news with the local community and beyond,” says Nicholas Diaz, Superintendent of Union Township Schools.

Nicholas Diaz, Union Township School District Superintendent, has been a member of the New Jersey School Public Relations Association for two years. He leads NJSPRA’s Superintendent Advisory Committee. In September 2017, Diaz was named as a "Superintendent to Watch" by the National School Public Relations Association. Diaz is also a member of the National Association of School Superintendents and the New Jersey Association of School Administrators.
