Bienvenidos!
Hola! My name is Mrs. Hernandez. I am the Spanish teacher for grades 4-8 at UTMS. I have a BA degree in Communications and I received my professional teacher education from Rutgers. I have been teaching Spanish in the NJ public school system for 10 years and before that, I was an elementary teacher in Miami, FL for the private sector. I believe learning a new language opens doors to new cultures, ideas, and opportunities. My goal is to make Spanish engaging, meaningful, and fun for the students at UTMS. Outside the classroom I enjoy exploring the world around me by trying new foods from different cultures, road tripping, and nature. I also head the Foreign Language Club and am part of the Multi-Cultural team for the MS, which had an amazing turn out last year. I am hoping it will be even bigger this year. I look forward to an exciting year of learning and growing together with each student.
