About the Inclusive Preschool Program

The Union Township School District offers two full-day integrated programs with special education students attending alongside general education students. One program is for 3 year olds and the other is for 4 year olds. A nap/quiet time for each preschool section will be instituted and will last approximately 60 minutes. Classes follow the Union Township School Calendar.
The teachers, who are certified in both elementary education and special education, along with one instructional aide, will teach the class. The ratio of adults to children in the room will be approximately 1:7.
The curriculum is aligned with the New Jersey State Standards for Preschool. Children are taught through hands-on learning, as well as visual and auditory approaches. Throughout the school year, children will be exposed to various strategies and techniques to establish a foundation for educational success. Students will acquire various skills, such as cognitive, fine motor, gross motor, social, and self-help skills.
Transportation is available for all students in the program.
Applicants must be 3 or 4 before October 1, 2025 to qualify.
Due to the high interest in the program a lottery system has been impleted in the district. Children who are already enrolled in our program do not need to submit a response for the lottery, as their registration carries over to the next school year. However, families who entered the lottery previously but did not receive a seat, need to re-submit their interest.
